Is it normal to hate the word "panties"?

As I guy, I love the subject of them and most things that are involved with them, but the word itself is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I have one or two other friends that also feel this way and I believe I've seen this subject pop up on a few TV shows, but I want to know from you guys. IIN?

    Well we say knickers here, underwear or just pants.

    I think if you said panties to a British person they'd find it a bit creepy. So I can see where you're coming from, I don't particularly like it either. It just makes me think of seedy men, like those guys who buy 'panties' from vending machines in Japan, or use them to masturbate with.

    I like the word and find it very arousing. Especially when my girlfriend says the word panties it instantly gets my attention.

    I've never liked the word 'panties'
    For some reason I always think of 1920 fluffy knickers or similar. actually its a turn off.

    Some reason the whole Internet sex industry commonly says 'panties', I've never understood why?

    Omg seriously I was thinking or posting a story about this word! I hate it! It's so tacky! And it makes me cringe....in the same way dirty old men make me cringe, and dirty old men saying the word makes me cringe even more......
