Is it normal to hate the whatchamacallit?

My mother always uses filler words such as "whatsit", "wossname", "whatsherface" in her speech. I find it extremely annoying and I can't really understand what she's talking about. Many times, she tells me "bring me the whatsitsname" or "go fix that thingum" and then gets angry when I ask what does she mean.

The problem is, I seem to be the only one. Everyone else in the family understands her just fine.

So, is it normal to hate filler words or am I the only one?

    I'm guilty of saying stuff like that but only because I can't immediately think of what I'm referring to.

    My mum does it to but I nearly always get what she means.
