Is it normal to hate the way some girls talk?

First of all, I'm a girl, and I have a major pet peeve with the way the majority of us girls speak. It's not the how we pronounce something, or abbreviate certain words, it's only when something ends in an "s".
For some strange reason I squirm a little bit every time I hear a preppy girl or popular girl talking, but they're kind of far away, so all I hear are the s's leaving their mouths. I'm not just saying that those two groups do it, either. Most women seem to have this weird lisp thing going on, including myself, and I hate it. Is is normal to be annoyed by this when I should be used to it by now?

    I've noticed it when I speak but not in other females. Maybe that's why I hate the way I speak but love how others speak.
