If everyone was annoyed by something so small then the world would be a hard place to live in.
There's two types of sighs: a sigh of disgust and a sigh of relief.
When I was a child, my mum liberally used the disgusted sigh to express her anger towards me and my brother. I too avoid sighing like that now because I hated it so much as a child and I don't enjoy hearing other people do it, unless it's out of relief.
My mom does the same thing and it drove me crazy. I try to never sigh out of disgust but I just found myself doing it...sigh...aaah!
You've really weirded me out by saying the word "mum". When I started on IIN, the three people I noticed most were you, howaminotmyself and randomjelly. I thought you were all North American. I'm a very confused boy now.
Its always "something", isn't it? Sighing, chewing gum, not smiling suitably. *sigh* The list is endless...
I do get angry when people sigh when its uncalled for. For example if I as my girlfriend to clean up a mess she made and I ask her to go clean it up and she sighs I will get mad because I feel its a petty thing to feel annoyed with. It makes me feel that if they are getting upset with basic things then their being annoyed with it is also draining to my energy. Its hard to be in a good mood around someone who makes everything seem like such a big deal.
