Is it normal to hate the john lennon song "imagine"

I am have been a huge Beatles fan ever since I can remember. You can name me a song and I can tell you what album is it on. I can even niame the albums in chornilogical order. I am also a huge fan of each members solo works throughout the 70s. That being said I hate the song imagine. It think it is a sappy, overproduced and overplayed Lennon song. There are so many songs that I think better represent him but this seems to be the song that everyone talks when mentioning Lennon. Maybe I hate it because it so popular. All I know is that whenever I'll play the record I always skip that song. Thank god it's the first track

      Joan Lemon, Ermahgine:

      Ermahgine all the Beatles,
      It's easy if you try,
      Joan Lemon, Paolo and Dingo,
      And that other guy,

You may play all our records,
Even the worst of all our tracks,
I hope some day you'll realise
We stole our music from the blacks!

    I love that song.

You sound like a Beatles hipster. You know, like: 'Oh I like all their most obscure songs and hate all their most commercially successful songs! You're not a real fan unless you have every recording every member has ever made and can list them in chronological order! Imagine? Pff that's for people who like pop music. Real fans don't listen to that nonsense! Lennon just made it for the money so he could keep producing REAL art for us TRUE FANS! I skip it every time."

I'm a big fan of The Police and I HATE the song, Every Breath You Take! Frigging stupid, sappy ass, stalker song. What I hate even more are all the stupid losers who think it's some kind of beautiful love song!

This is one of my favorites as it's really an emotional journey to me every time I hear it.

Yeah it's kinda preachy and way overplayed. "Imagine no religion" well maybe some people want to believe in a religion, jackass. I'm not personally very religious but the world would be damn boring without belief imo.

The 70s was a time of rebellion. Back then nobody gave a shit about rules or music. Now everybody is so uptight and wanker tied about reigion. Its a fucking "Guy" who is above us in every way. Nothing more, Nothing less. *Just defined 80% of all religions.*

  • If John Lennon were still alive, I imagine we'd hear that song plaid in commercials quite regularly, albeit with slight variations;

"Dunkin' Donuts creamer; think we're a one-trick pony? Meet the new lineup - now in seven delicious flavors. Dunkin' Donuts creamer - not just for fans of French Vanilla (the commercial ends on the refrain "You may sa-aa-aa-ay I'm a creamer... Well I'm not the only one. I hope some daaa-aa-ay you'll enjoy us...").

    "Imagine there's no Heaven"...

I don't have to imagine that. I have to imagine there *is* one.

Also, I don't think a world with 65 billion people would be very pleasant to live in.

It's a song I personally really like. A world with no religion would be an intersting thing to imagine I admit. But one way or another people can still find things to argue about so it wouldn't really matter much. (Apart from stopping a few wars I mean).

I don't particularly enjoy it either. Not only is it very annoying, but it has a sinister vibe when you take into consideration that The Beatles apparently had ties to Satanism.... They also play the damn thing way to much and I hate the slow tempo at which that song is played. Talk about nauseating.
