Is it normal to hate religious talk?

I'm agnostic but I used to be very religious, I was raised Christian. Now I hate when anyone brings up God or Jesus or really any religion other than buddism for some reason. That includes Christian, catholic, Muslim, agnostic, athiest, etc. In fact if someone else had written this and I was reading it I would get a little bit angry that it has to do with religion at all. I know, go figure...

Religion is for weak, self-deluding fools. Not only is religion pointless its dangerous to society. It cause nothing but predjuidice, war, hate and fear.

    Fuck Religon.

I understand this, but athieism isn't a religion lol. It's a pure disbelief in any kind of faith.

In this day and age, what effect does religion have on your life? Really?

Nothing. Whether you believe or not makes no difference in your life. You make your own life. What does it matter what you believe in?

So yeah, who cares what other peoples' opinions are on religion and morality? There are atheists with more morals than some Christians. All that matters really is that you live up to what you believe in.

Personally, I just try to follow the golden rule, and fuck everything else.

There are preachy atheists and preachy religious types. Both are annoying. Let people do as they may.

I am EXACTLY the same way. I still live with my family for a few more months, too. Whenever they pray or bring up Jesus I want to throw up. It all seems so freaking corny. I see old prayers I wrote growing up, too, and I want to rip them up or something.

I don't care what religion people are, I just hate when people use their "religion" as an excuse for that they do. Especially those super psycho jesus people, who condemes everyone to hell...

  • Being Christian IS about going out and sharing the love of God. Now a days too many "Christians" have become self righteous and judgemental. Two things the Bibke explicitly tells us not to do. They are a great part of why other people dislike Christians now a days and it's really sad. Also who ever said Christianity and God are for the weak minded is quite obviously weak minded themselves. Being a Christian is ten times harder than not being one because we are held to a higher standard than the rest of the world and He wants us to live a life wholly surrounding Him. Which can be very, very hard. Trust me.

  • Heh it's crazy i feel the exact same way. I hate going to church because i alway's and i mean ALWAYS fall asleep. I do however, believe in Bhuddism and i practice meditating when i'm feeling stressed or agitated.I feel everyone should practice Bhuddism because the world would be a lot less hostile.

I think it's normal to be frustrated by what religious talk usually represents, especially if you've grown up having that 'talk' used to judge & condemn while essentially having no regard for your individuality or the free will that you're also supposed to have.

Hate is a strong word, though.

In this day and age it's probably pretty common to feel the way you do, there are times I get irritated by people trying to push their religions on other people.. they just need to let everyone decide for themselves what they want to do. Well I consider myself Christian, but I don't sit there and cast judgement on people because of their beliefs like some of the other devout Christians do; it's not my place to do so. I just try to live my life the best I can and to do whats right whether or not what anyone says.

    • If you are a Christian, it is your responsibility to "make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I (Jesus) have commanded YOU." (Matthew 28:19,20)
