I know most guys like porn but I don't watch it ever and I hate porn. I feel that it's degrading to women and treats them solely as sex objects. Also I feel that porn is totally unrepresentative of real romantic relationships. When I even think about porn I imagine the girl and guy are getting paid to act out this rape fantasy or this scene where usually the guy always has the control and power. I'm a guy who is sometimes into masochism and being submissive so I'm not against the idea of a woman having the power and dominating me.

    Its fine to hate porn. Everything you said about it is true and if you can live without it then its much better for you. To be fair though, it IS merely entertainment and unless its some video of non-actors/everyday people, everything is forced and most definitely not realistic. But people watch for the fantasy and non-realism anyway so its okay. Its cool to not watch, I do feel that it shouldn't be taken seriously either as those who do watch know it isn't an accurate depiction and don't sit there with a notepad and pencil but instead just watch, get their fix, and move on.

    I don't see how it is degrading to the women but not to the men. Pretty sexist view really.

    If you ask me, the men watching porn are the only ones being degraded. For one, women in porn do it because they love doing it and/or it makes lots of money. And for two, the fact that men pay sooo much money just to see women taking off their clothes, and/or gyrate. THAT seems like ([definition]) a loss of respect for yourself and humiliating.

    I'm getting so sick and tired of all these "it's degrading to women" type of comments. Especially if it's coming from a guy. Man up! Grow a pair! The sight of a naked woman should arouse you, not offend you! I was gonna agree and give you my reasons for not liking porn but after seeing another one of those "it's degrading to women" comments, forget it! If your reasons for hating porn is because "it's degrading," then good luck trying to get laid. No girl is gonna want a feminist for a guy who will constantly agree with them on how "it's degrading to women." They want a man who is not afraid to disagree with them and doesn't care if he offends them.

    OP, I can see where you're coming from.
    It doesn't matter if it's straight porn or gay porn,
    I really don't care for it.
    To me, if I watch it, I always think about the people who are filming it or what the actors are acting out,
    it just all feels too fake to me.
