Is it normal to hate pop music but really like this song?

I don't usually listen to pop music or the radio, but for some reason I really like the song "pumped up kicks". It sounds different than the others to me somehow.

    It's not pop. It's an alternative song played on alternative radio stations, but somehow ended up on shity pop stations.

    What the hell is indie? That songs sounds like pop to me. It sounds like a really mellow Jesus and Mary Chain.
