Is it normal to hate "politically correct" bs?

I seriously find it so annoying...

All I'm saying is that if I say "Merry Christmas" To someone, whether they agree with my beleifs or not, just be happy that I took the time to wish you a good thing. :/ I mean, sure I can understand that someone might not have the same beleifs and I'm completely understanding and tolerant of them... but I see no reason people should be "offended" because someone doesn't agree with them.

What are your thoughts?

It's normal and it pisses me off. My country is so fucking politically correct that it makes want to go insane. Kids shows about 20 years ago were real and now there are a bunch of bullshit about how everyone is happy, bad people just need a hug, and that people don't die! Same thing with the media. The film industry has gone the loo! You can't really speak your mind without having someone somewhere getting offended and exploding over it.
    What fuckery is that?!

Couldn't agree more!! It's pointless and frankly I feel like it's making us all a bunch of pussies, afraid to accept anything we don't understand or agree with. And if we aren't pussies, humans start wars over it.

And some people will say that Religion starts war, while I personally thing that it's not religion that starts war, but intolerance :/

To a point yes. Lots of my opinions are going to offend people, and I can be crass at times, but I give no fucks and rarely moderate my language or what I speak about. Better to be real than be a people pleaser.

At the same time I'm not gonna go around being discriminatory, I'm generally a pretty nice person. ;P So you won't hear me being aggressively offensive or confrontational toward people. I get leery about what's okay sometimes now, because my boyfriend's family is very involved with the disability rights movement and several of his immediate family members are disabled.

That said, you should hear his mom's boyfriend give no fucks. >.< Haha he lost his arms, and loves to make hand jokes and shit all the time. >.> I guess the best way to deal is to have a sense of humor about it, rite?

People tell me Merry Christmas all the time, doesn't bother me. I just say Happy Hanukkah back to them and go on my way. Or Happy Kwanza if they are white.

I agree, fuck the politically correct. We should all live by the word of God. Take for example the New International Version of the Bible, Ecclesiates 2 :7, I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. 2 : 8, I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem as well - the delights of a man's heart. Now I understand that this passage is intended to teach a person that these things are meaningless, but I don't give a shit! Poll after poll has shown me that most people don't care, why should I? Many people in this world are just plain greedy, why should I be any different? How dare those politically correct assholes for changing the true word of God and making some of these things illegal. I don't give a shit if these are meaningless or not, I want them. I have a constitutional right of freedom of religion, and right now I want a female slave to suck my cock.

Yes, I once described myself that way, no longer. The sad reality, is that what I wrote is true. I was being sarcastic, but there are many others who live by these words. We need to stop clinging on to archaic models for society. Neither the religious people, nor the poltically correct people serve to improve our society. They simply waste time.

All I'm saying is that no matter what you beleive in, just be happy another person is wishing a good thing on you ya know... No need to be 'insulted' if someone is praying in front of you or if you see your neighbors lighting candles in a pentagram on their living room floor.. it's their thing, you don't have to agree with it. Respect and tolerate, and we can all get along :3

Personally, I absolutely despise whoever decided to reinterpret common courtesy as something undesirable be calling it "politically correct", a phrase which does not even mean anything. Who's politics is it correct by anyway?

So go ahead, give your Jewish neighbors a ham for Christmas, I don't care. But it only makes you look like a douche.

I agree with you. I'm Jewish, and I get more pissed off when people call Christmas Break "winter break." It's always situated around Christmas, so why not be truthful? The only way we'll be able to conquer things like racism and intolerance is if we're blunt and honest about what we really think.

    A 100% agree.

Soon people are going to get pissed over saying "bless you" when people sneeze. You try to do something to be courteous and people can still find something to bitch about.

  • I agree, some of it has really become stupid. I love using the word retard, but some of my friends hate it so I try to put a sock in it (it's so difficult though) when I'm around them.

But, fuck, I still cringe when my ignorant father refers to all brown people as Pakis, especially when most of them are actually Sikh.

I don't mind being called a Canuck though.
