say animals aren't as important as humans? Look around. "God" didn't just create humans. Why the hell would he create animals then? Just for us to eat and play with?
I agree with ngng001, while I love animals more then humans I think we should put our own species first, just like every other living thing in the world.
I think people should care for other people first. After all, wolves care for other wolves first and dolphins care for other dolphins first and monkeys care for other monkeys first, etc.
That doesn't mean we should just kill indiscriminately, though. We should kill animals for meat and use as much of the animal as possible, not shoot a random deer to make a trophy.
Animals should come first. I love all living things. We cannot put humans first. Everything belongs to the food chain. Eliminate one animal or plant and another species will suffer. Until all are gone, including us. We need them. They are the innocent ones. They can't protect themselves from selfish humans. Animals are wonderous creatures. Endearing.

i believe that animals have rights, but i dont think they are equal to humans. we are at the top of the chain and thats just how nature goes :)

Actually yes. Humans breed animals to eat, play with, and manufacture goods from. So in a way, humans are God for these animals. Not advocating animal cruelty, just sayin' a lot of animals are only born to benefit humans in some way.
