I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only one! My mom would sneeze like 500 times and a row and all I could do was cuss her out ha! The sudden noise scares me and raises my anxiety!

Both my mom and my dad sneeze by shrieking at the top of their lungs - as if someone had just driven a rail spike through their foot - and it annoys the hell out of me. So yes it's normal.

Sniffing gets under my skin. Especially during a test in the class and half of your classmates are sniffing and won't blow their nose! Sneezing bothers me sometimes when I'm near them, I back up and don't breath for a few seconds.lol. My friend sneezes like 15 times in a row and all I can ask is, "Does this happen when you're driving?" Scary thought.

I get a sort of sudden rage reaction to people's sneezes on account of being startled. But I don't yell at them to shut up, since I know it's more my problem than theirs. I think that people more prone to anger or anxiety have anger reactions to being startled in general, whether by a sneeze or something else.

Of course, on the other end of it, I always feel like screaming when I sneeze, because it usually happens at a time when I'd rather not. I feel utter fury at the lack of choice.

Personally I have Misophonia and I hate certain sounds like coughing, sneezing, sniffing, etc so that's normal...

Misophonia, literally "hatred of sound," is a putative disorder of uncertain classification in which negative emotions, thoughts, and physical reactions are triggered by specific sounds.

I get sneezing is involuntary. But sometimes people have to make a big deal out of it. Like attention seeking. At least try and keep it to yourself. I don't want to know you are about to release saliva and bodily waste into my breathing space. And the insincere "Bless Yous". More like - Do it Again and I'm Gonna Punch You.

No, it definitely is not normal. You may have some anger issues if something this trivial bothers you. People can't help when they sneeze, it's a reaction that happens and people have no control over it other than blowing their nose which sometimes still doesn't help. You're being very petty and snobbish about something that is completely natural, which is exactly what's wrong with this generation. Listen to yourself. Disrespecting your mother by telling her to "shut up". You are lucky you are not my child because your butt would be beet red and you'd be in your room for the night without supper. To think that someone has tainted YOUR perfect world by sneezing. My God, what an atrocity. You need to get over yourself, because your attitude is what the real problem is here, not people sneezing. Maybe the next time YOU sneeze someone should yell at you, make you feel bad, and then tell YOU to shut up, huh? You're sickening! and everyone here that agrees should be ashamed of themselves, bunch of little teenage twits who think they know it all.... Grow up you little brats, you need a good whooping on the butt and that's the honest truth.

I think you need to take stock of what you have written here, placing everyone in the same basket. First off, i am 52 (not a teenage brat!!) and i find people sneezing annoyng... i am not someone who needs a blasted good spanking turning my butt beet red! (I think YOU sre the one with the anger issues here) Secondly, finding people annoying when they sneeze, fart, cough, sniff ... even eating!! This can actually be quite normal. (As someone above has added the misophonia condition). It is a human reflex. Humans are all very different and individual and we have a very broad spectrum of tolerance. There is no right way or wrong way dealing with life. No matter how big or small the challenges/issues we face. I only seem to have these issues with members of my family. I wonder if it has something to do with emotional attachment? In particular sneezing, then eating! With sneezing nobody seems to reach for a tissue, they would rather sit there and sneeze and splutter all over the place and all over me. Personally for me, its an issue of GERMS. When i sneeze, i sneeze quietly. If more than one sneeze approaches, i reach for a tissue. If i am out in public and i have no tissue then i sneeze into the crease of my elbow. Its consideration and manners for others around me. Something that SOME sneezers and sniffers, dont have for others. As it is my other half just sneezed up a storm, facing away from me, but spluttering all over the furniture and tv remotes placed on a table next to him!! Germs germs everywhere! I hated it... so i left the room quietly.

I think you're an anal asshole. In anatomical terms, that would be a redundant phrase. But colloquially speaking, you are both anal and an asshole. I'm pretty sure they don't have a choice as to whether or not they need to sneeze.

To be honest... i thnk it has somethign to do with the emotional attachment we have to those close to us. Only my family members get me annoying when sneezing or eating! But anyone else... i can handle that. It doesnt annoy me. Just family members. I wonder if its an emotional thing?
