Is it normal to hate other fans/supporters of a band

Alright. I love this certain anonymous popular band that is widely known around the globe. I own all of their music that has ever been released and I have bought some of their CDs and framed them and put them on my apartment walls. I am completely obsessed, which I think is normal to an extent. My problem is that I have almost an anger towards other fans of this band. Like when I go to their concerts, I am angry at people that have better seats than I do, etc. I almost feel like they are "my band" and that they belong to me, which I know is a bad thought process because not only is it selfish, but it's very untrue. But it's coming to the point where when I search the band name online, I don't want to look at the autocompleted results (ie. when you type in the letter E in a search engine, it comes up with things it thinks you are trying to find like egg recipies) because I will get either sad or angry because I will remember that other people are fans too, and I don't like that. So, is it normal? And if it isn't, what can I do to fix it?

A little to obsessed yes. But before too long it will fade. But if when it does you replace it with another obsession you need to get help.

I understand how you feel because I feel kind of the same way towards some of the people I listen to, but you're taking your obsession a little too far. Not normal.

Kill your favorite band member and stuff him. Keep him in your room and have tea parties and talk politics. He will never leave you or love another.

You're being absurdly jealous. It's not normal. Get over it.

I can definitely see where you're coming from and there is nothing wrong with it, I don't really see why so many people are saying it's not normal - because it is. I wouldn't worry too much, it's fine. :D

    Hiya,

No. I’ve got the opposite “problem”! I usually get “oo, I remember them” or “are they still going?!” I love chatting about my favourite bands/songs and meeting up with people at concerts. It’s brilliant, we can go on for hours.

I feel the same all the time I dont like people to like the same band as I do. I even avoid talking about music because I dont want people to start being fans of the same bands. I totaly agree with you.

I think that you want to feel like you are their #1 fan and it hurts you to think that they cannot be your friend. A lot of people are like that, they just cannot bring themselves to admit it. They are in denial. IT is normal

Yeah. You just have to learn to be happy for those other people because the negative energy builds up and it's bad.
