Is it normal to hate my brother?

My brother is currently two years older then me. Lately though, he's been acting like a complete douche to everyone, including family members. He has experience with anger issues. He punched a hole in the wall. But he never got any help. His grades are low, he doesn't respect anyone, and when I say " No, I won't do that for you." he thinks I'm being rude to him. Even though normally, if I asked something like that to him he would give the same, or even a more negative response. He also states that we don't talk often. And that's true, but it's because he's been an idiot to everyone. I'm honestly hating him more and more. Is this normal?

I have some experience at this, as I have (2) two younger brothers. He is picking you to talk to. Maybe he is having trouble with his grades, girls, bullying at school, a job, getting into college or paying for college. Just listen and DO NOT BELITTLE HIS CONCERNS, if you do, you risk alienating him and with nobody to talk to, it would become worse. Just be a good brother and listen to him without judging him. Good luck.

  • It's possible that maybe he's going through a tough time that he doesn't want anyone to know. My older brother and I are close but there was this one period of time when he was a complete douche to me. Turns out that he just got tired of being called weird and a loner by everyone. I suggest that you just try to be nice to him when he asks you for stuff. Maybe he'll appreciate it later.
