Is it normal to hate my birthday because of this

I feel like every year that goes by is another reminder that my parents and sibblings dont get me, they never get stuff i like for my birthday, this time my mum thought i would like a jacket with a yin yang on it, when it means nothing to me, i am an anime fan, so my mum presumed it was japanese and then asked me what it meant way after ordering it and buying it.

Its horrible, knowing your parents are trying to presume what you want instead of just asking.

Is it normal to feel like this?

    I thought something horribly tragic happened on your birthday. Like you woke up to find your dog dead in the road, or your mom laying lifeless in a pool of water. Or maybe your home caught fire and all your stuff went up in flames while you stood in the street wearing your pajamas and clutching your stuffed bunny hoping that little sis made it out too. Or maybe you went to a fancy restaurant for dinner and contracted E Coli and spent all night shitting and puking yourself.

    Bad presents is a silly reason to dislike birthdays.

    Be thankful she tried! I grew up with no heat, no food, nothing. She's just trying to show you she loves you. Thank her and stop being so spoiled about it.

    She also said if I take good care of it she will get me an iPod touch well here I am know with a 32gb 4th gen iPod touch THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR MY SELF WITH THE MONEY I GOT FROM A CAR CRASH!!>:(

    You're parents don't get you what you want. That's what parents do! They grew up in a different decade. (In my case a different decade, in a different country, in communism) They're not there to "get you" they're there to love you.

    I'm guessing you're young so you're normal. You've reached that point when you're not entertained as easily as you were when you were a kid. Face it, kids are easy to impress.

    Go spend time with your mum. Go window shopping with her. You'll satisfy your materialism, and she'll enjoy spending time with you. If they don't understand you, give them to understand you.

    My parents always got me stuff I hated. That's what they do. Opt for the gift card next time if you have a choice. The fact that she thought Japanese and that you like anime means some thought went in to the gift process. Don't be too hard on her.

    My mom always gets me things I don't like. We just have way different concepts of what we like. Now I just go shopping with her, or she gives me a gift card.

    Hey Fucken Asshole, don't bitch about your gifts that you receive for holidays, but be grateful you still have parents who love and care for you and give you the best they have to offer. WISHED MY PARENTS WERE STILL HERE TO GIVE ME RETARDED GIFTS, {BUT SOME CANNOT BE THAT LUCKY I AM 55 AND LOST BOTH OF MY PARENTS IN AN AUTOMOBILE CRASH WHEN I WAS 15}.

    LOVE THE GIFT GIVERS WHO WILL BE WITH YOU ALOT FUCKEN LONGER THAN THE GIFT.
