Is it normal to hate most of these newer abbreviations?

It seems like more and more often I have to google various abbreviations. I read a blog that states, "My dc came w us to the show an L8r my dh saw dis hwp swf and wth, fml, this weekend FTW def... He'll c." All I got out of that was that my friend went to a show with an unknown someone(s)/something(s), and something unknown happened. Now that's fantastic. That's like saying, "I know something you don't know!" Usually google helps me out, but other times I'm left in the dark. I get texts full of that kind of garbage all the time, too. I actually quite enjoy the more common abbreviations (USA UK etc. Ms. Dr. Ave.) but all this "contemporary" shorthand trash is so annoying! I truly feel sorry for someone who is sooo busy (or sooo lazy) that they can't find two seconds to type out the word!

    The language needs to be dictated and controlled on which abbreviations are permitted and prohibited along with prohibiting the misspelling of words through publishing's including advertising in order to understand the language for EVERYONE not the so called "language manipulators". This is why so few people are able to communicate effectively anymore.

    I especially hate it on blogs. Sometimes people reference well known sports stars etc. in abbreviations or technical terms that you have to google to figure out. i just hate it. Seems like people with trouble spelling anyway have just TAKEN to the abbreviating. Now you REALLY need a crystal ball to understand that shit

    A friend of mine is a school teacher and texts shortened words like wif (with), xpensive, nt (not), sur (sure). You get my drift? So if a teacher is too lazy to spell words, what is this world coming to?!

    It is annoying! Especially times when abbreviations can have more than one possible definition. That makes the whole sentence ambigous. Also having to learn the latest abbreviations is tiring as well.

    Lol wtf u tlkin bout? .. No i understand.. Its bullshit. What i also hat is when people change words all the time but still have the same amount of letters so it cant be for it veing faster (like : tha , itz )
