Is it normal to hate mcdonalds?

Everytime I go to mcdonalds they mess up the order or give me crappy food. I know they're just kids making minimum wage but EVERYTIME????

Last three times consecutively, while business was slow, and at different locations: Missing straw for drink, really dry and cold fries, coupon rung up incorrectly and mcflurry was half filled, if that. I thought my boyfriend was exaggerating when he wanted to boycott mcdonalds but now I can see why. It is worth the drive across town to hit up burger king.

Am I exaggerating as well or is it perfectly normal to hate mcdonalds?

I love McDonald's food, but the people who work at the ones I go to are completely inept. It's a surprise some of them can walk and breathe at the same time. So it's kind of a toss-up for me. I know I should never expect great customer service from a fast food chain, but at the same time, it would be really nice to just go through and get what I want, rather than having to repeat my order over and over again, and then have something wrong with it in the end.

This infuriates me, also. I find that my orders are ALWAYS messed up. I know it's SO difficult to listen to an order and then place the food correctly in the bag, though. SO difficult.
It has to be that it is primarily kids, or adults with no marketable skills working there. They just don't care enough to get it right, you know?

The only good thing about McDonalds is the chicken caesar wrap. Everything else is gross.

    It's rubbish, so I don't like it.
    The food isn't good.
Only good after coming out of the pub at 5 in the morning XD

Though I wouldn't say I hate mcdonalds. They haven't done anything that has affected me in any way.

I KNEW I wasn't the only one! My favorite place is Hardees, though most of my family and about half my freinds hate it. Mcdonalds just dosn't got enough flavor, not hot enough, and there burgers are too small.

If you want 5 star service, go to a 5 star restaurant.
If you want good service, go to a good restaurant.
If you want restaurant service, go to a restaurant.

However, you went to a fast food joint. Your service was fast, you barely god food and you should smoke a joint and chill the f*** out. You get what you pay for.

  • The Salads are pumped full of chemicals and pesticides as with the apples. The juices hold next to know nutritonal value and milk is terrible for your health it greatly increases your risk of several forms of cancer and diseases like parkinsons, alzheimers and heart. Plus despite what the media tells you it actually causes osteoporosis thanks to a protein called Casein which actually leeches more calcium out of your body than milk puts in. The calcium in milk is extremely hard for your body to absorb as well.Did you also know that milk is contaminated with faeces and due to a large number of cows contracting Mastitis an incredibly painfull infection of the udder milk is also contaminated with blood and puss. The industry actually deems it acceptable to have a certain level of blood and puss cells in milk, this is considered normal. Check out A Delicate Balance or Forks Over knives if you want to find out how incredibly sick the food you are eating is making you and how you can eat healthy.

By having tolerated levels of 'contamination', it's not that the industry is trying to slip anything past anyone, it's just because it's completely unavoidable so there has to be a standard. But there's standards such as these with virtually all foods.

      • They can avoid it though. It is because factory farmed animals are not protected under animal rights laws, they are simply deemed a commoditity. It is because they are not protected that 99% of them do not recieve veterinary care. It is lack of vet care and the fact they are over-milked and keeped in filthy conditions that leads to them having Mastitis (and incredibly painfull infection)which in turn is responsible for the blood and puss secretions.

Well that's just not true. My family owned and operated a dairy for over 18 years, and that's simply not true at all.

          • There are very few good dairy mills left these days as they are being run out of business by the larger ones which have substanded conditions. I know because I am an animal activist and I visit these mills all the time and see the filthy conditions and the poor state the cows are in. At the end of the line all the milk tankers pump the milk into huge vats where it is mixed with milk from various dairy farms so even if milk from one farm is clean it will be spoiled because of a contaminated milk from another farm. Are your parents still in posession of their dairy farm? If not how long ago did they sell?

            • wigsplitz

No, they sold the dairy cows about 9 years ago.

Every single farm's milk is sampled and tested every single time the milk is picked up. It is tested for bacteria, somatic cells, water content, antibiotics, butter fat and so on. If a farm tests below standard, that farm pays for the entire tanker of ruined milk. As you can imagine, that's incredibly expensive. Also, farmers are paid a wholesale price by weight for the milk (unless of course they bottle their own, but most don't), and paid bonuses for higher butterfat. There's GREAT incentive for the farmer to provide high quality milk, as you can see. Unsellable milk is very costly, not just from lost income but because you still have to feed the cow(s) that are not producing, which is incredibly expensive as well. The milk companies who buy wholesale milk don't care if a sample tests badly, because they're still going to get paid for the ruined milk, and the farmer desperately doesn't wnt to ruin the milk tanker, so there's no incentive for either party to try to get contaminated milk through. It's exactly the opposite.

In the US, over 90% of farms are what is considered 'small family farms'.

I'm not sure what you mean by poor condition...cows are supposed to produce milk for the farm, if they are not fed and cared for properly that defeats the whole purpose as they won't be producing (or producing well).

  • Mc'Donalds and healty is quite an oxy-moron. There is nothing healthy about Maccas healthy options, trust me I have looked into them very deeply as I am a Vegan and I want to expose them for everything they really are. Even their salads are so heavily dosed with pestecides and chemicals to keep them looking fresh that they are doing more bad than good. Have you seen the Maccas experiement where they take a Maccas meal and a home made version and age them both for ten years? After five years the Maccas meal looks the same and the home made meal is barely a pile of fungi. There is also the fact they use extremely low grade meat for their burger, the so called meat they used is bone and fat that is died to look like meat, I know because I helped build the building that does this process. Besides the consumption of animal protein (meat, eggs and dairy) are the biggest health epidemic known to man kind today, "animal protein has killed more people in the last decade than all the automobile accidents, all the natural disasters and all of the world wars combinded" Dr. Collin Cambell. Then there is also the animal cruelty behind the production of animal protein and the fact that this production is destroying the planet faster than any other industry in the world. Check out these docomentaries if you really want to know what is being hidden from you A Delicate Balance, Forks Over Knives, these doco's are based on the worlds longest largest running health study to date "A China Study" these doco's are in no way graphic. Then check out "Meet Your Meat" to see where Maccas gets its factory farmed meat form, this Doco is free on youtube.

Dont trust anything that PETA puts up.

Im not defending factory farms,( some are horrible) but (in the us), they do have standards.

if thats real footage from a slaughterhouse, the the place in question would be shut down and have their licence revoked. That is a violation of basic sanitary guidelines, if in the U.S.

They shut down that farm in California for health and handling violations when they tried to push sick cows to slaughter in forklifts.

I dont know about other countries, but that's how it is in the us, and how its been since 1908.

No, what they do is they buy used up old dairy cows, or cows that are 'down' meaning they have a serious injury or illness (I know this because I and my family have sold numerous old cows, they are sold for consumption). They mix that low grade meat with lots of fat and artificial flavoring. It's terrible meat that would be impossible to sell as anything other than ground meat with added fat and flavoring.

The USDA mandates that any meat by-products used are disclosed to the consumer, so things like bone or eyeballs would have to be reported.

      • They may do that overseas for maccas but in Australia are large portion of the "meat" comes form this processing plant at the slaughterhouse I worked at and it was just bone, fat and smidgens of meat. I know what you are talking about using "spent" (sick and depleted) dairy cows for hamburgers they do it here but it is not for maccas just for mince in general.

most food is like that anyways, even the "fresh" ground beef at your local supermarket. The only way I know to avoid this is go to a farmer's market or a certified organic grocer. Be prepared to pay big though, organic food is expensive.

Also, even something labelled "natural" or organic may not be quite so, so be careful.
