I hate it too, very traumatic.....
Then, there's a shitload of subliminal messages.
not to mention the implied incest.
iirc there was only one lioness, therefore simba and his girl-lion (i forgot her name) were from the same mother
(although that really is normal for lions)
That never occurred to me. The other day I was thinking about the sequel and the relations. Scar is Simba's brother or uncle and in the "outlands" Kobu's mother acted like she was with Scar, but I think Scar was her brother. Yet, Kobu is told to befriend the lions in the "pridelands" and win the trust of Simba's daughter. Both of which are related. Then the lions from the "out lands" switch sides and join the ones in the "pride lands". You'd think it would be new DNA, but knowing sick disney, everyone's probably related!
I think Simba's lover was "Nala".
Also, the whole thing about the Lions being friends with the other inhabitants of the "Pride" didn't make any sense. They way they implied things, the lions would've been forced to become vegetarians and then die from lack of protein and taurine. In reality, they wouldn't of given a second thought to the "Inhabitants" in the Pride. They would become slave to their need for meat and there's absolutely no way in hell, that the "royal page" would be a bird and nor would their "wise man" be a Baboon.
But if you compare the subliminal messages in this film with other Disney films which would be the worst? They all have the hidden word "sex" and tallywagger imagery.
Agreed. I haven't seen it in a while, but didn't Scar mention declining property values after the hyenas moved into the Pridelands?
i dont hate the lion king
i'm just bored with it.
i mean it's back out in 3d ... whoop-de-fucking-do.
Disney will do ANYTHING for money. They created Lion King 1/2 (I think that was the title). That film was a waste of time and effort! I can't believe I used to like that poor excuse for a film. The best thing they did for the series was make a Broadway play out of it, but I hate when they say it's the longest running play on broadway. The last I checked, that statement was a lie. You know how Disney has this Bullshit Vault crap?
They claim that they are putting a film in "The Vault" and that now is the last time it will ever be available, but a year later you see them doing the exact same thing?
How can you possibly hate the movie of your childhood, the one which taught you Hakuna Matata and seeing Simba's uncle get mauled on by a pack of Hyenas at the end.
I hate the Lion King, too. And I'd like to think of myself as normal, so....I'm gonna go ahead and say it's normal.
lion king is my fav film . i love it anyway. simba is a nice responsible adult in the end. lion king is amazing.
i take positives from it anyway
I don't like it either. It's just an average movie, I don't really see what people are so worked up about.
Duh, it's for little kids. Adults and teenagers shouldn't be watching that, it's past their stage.
U mad, bro? Disney is TIMELESS!! Who are you to say what adults shouldn't be watching?
You can grow up and still enjoy childish things. Enjoying Disney doesn't mean you've not grown up. Maybe YOU should take the stick out of your bum.
Dude, seriously, stop telling people what they can and can't watch. You're not king of the fucking world, ok? I pay my taxes. I have a job. I also enjoy Disney, My Little Pony, etc. I'm not going to start watching House and the news simply because of my age. Seriously, piss off.
If your'e reading this get off you @ss and go to a psychologist as soon as possible. You need help!!GO GO GO!!!
The Lion King is one of my all time favorite childhood movies! However, I respectfully accept your opinion albeit unwillingly...
Hating a cartoon movie is kind of harsh, wouldn't you think? Did it hurt you so much for you to hate it?
And on another note; are you still watching that movie? 'Cause if you are, and you hate it, I'd say the simplest solution is for you to stop watching that movie. :D
