Is it normal to hate kids this much?

Oh I cannot tell you enough how much I despise children. My best friend has a 3 year old and whenever he makes a crying face I just want to throw my shoe at his ugly face. Yes I did just say that about a 3 year old, big whoop. And yes I know I was a 3 year old once too and to be honest I would've hated me too.

Anwyays, does anyone else hate when parents tell you things (or in my case, constant text messages) about their kids? Things they think are cute, things you couldn't care less about. I often get messages with comments like "Tyler told me he had to go potty all by himself!!" Ummm I really don't give a sh*t that your kid FINALLY used the damn toilet on his own. It may be a big deal to you but I couldn't care less.

I hate when a person with a baby comes into the office and all the other ladies (I'm also female by the way) get all ooggly googly over it and look at me weird when I don't even blink an eye. I don't care to get up and go look at the smelly little human being.

I love animals and love going to the zoo (even though it breaks my heart to see them there) but I can't stand all the little brats screaming and whining. Why isn't there "Adult Zoo Time" like they do with swimming pools?

There's a restaurant on the coast of North Carolina that has a sign that states, "whining, crying, and screaming of children will not be tolerated". If your kid makes a scene, they will pack your food up and ask you to leave. Needless to say, the place does a ton of business. It's about time is all I can say!

One other thing, why do so many people think that someone who doesn't like kids is pure evil? I really don't get that mentality...

I hate kids too, don't feel bad. My little brother ruined me on kids, and even mom said she'd never have had another if he had been her first.

I don't find kids cute, so there's really nothing keeping me from thinking terrible things when I hear one shrieking inconsolably in public. Stuff a sock in it please! Same goes for parents.. I don't care what your kid does, it's not that important if billions of other kids are doing the exact same thing around the world. Hooray, your kid is average, how exciting. [/endrant]

So, be glad you know you hate kids now, rather than after having one. There are childfree forums all over the place if you need likeminded people to talk to. So don't worry, you aren't alone.

On the even brighter side... Imagine all the nice vacations you'll be able to afford if you skip having kids! :D

I am glad there are others out there who do not care for having children. Besides, why should we have to pay into taxes for schools and day cares for children we didn't create?

I agree with you. I hate kids. I get filled with rage when I'm in stores or out to eat and the little shits start screaming and whining and crying. Then I look at the parents and get even more angry because its like holy fuck- you procreated!?!? Oh dear god. And I get ecspecially angry at women with 6 children hanging on her. You can tell shes been a baby factory- one after the other. I am a woman too and I feel these women are disgusting. Birth control bitch!!!!! And you know she cant afford those babies. Yuck!!

Well of course I didn't mean literally. It's just one of those things you wish you could toss something at...

I couldn't agree with the original poster more! I can't think of any child at the moment that I like...not one! Even though I would never do it, it does indeed make me feel like I would enjoy hitting them full in the face with a fist (or something harder). Some people may say it is bad to say that I "hate" kids. But that really is true.

hahah this post made me laugh. i can understand totally about parents telling you useless crap about their kids because them being able to take a shit by themselves is really important to you. i loved the days when you could smack your kids because i always enjoyed when kids throw tantrums and parents smacking their kids in shopping malls and other public places. a workmate of mine brought his kid into work to show him off and all i could hear was this kid crying and screaming and it was very frustrating and i couldnt concentrate on my job. i used to not have the patience for kids and get really frustrated but i guess as i am getting older, i only get frustrated with how stupid teenagers are. oh and old people, they cant drive for shit!!! who knows, one day you might want one of those screaming brats of your own :)

I have two adult kids. It is different when you have your own. But I see your point. Now that mine are adults, little screaming kids get on my nerves. Mostly the parents though when they aren't trying to solve the problem. One time in a restaurant, this 2 year old was crying and crying, very loud. The parents were ignoring him. Well, after about 10 minutes of this, I had enough and yelled QUIET. People ducked. Looked around. It was quite funny to see everyones reactions. But I had enough. Didn't hear another word from that family. I expect loud children at fast food places, but not at a nice restaurant. QUIET your kids or take them outside.

I don't really buy that "it's different when you have your own" stuff. If that was the case, we wouldn't have abused children now would we? Personally, I don't mind the well-behaved ones. You know, the ones where the parent actually DISCIPLINES? Today though, people are so damn afraid to discipline their special snowflake... It's the screaming, crying little snots that I can't stand.
I'm with you about hearing parents talking about their kids. There are PLENTY of people in the world who would love to hear about their kid's first potty, I wish they'd go find one of them :-P I just really don't care!

What an immature assumption, how lovely!

Not everyone who dislikes kids beats them and not every person who loves kids is the world's best parent.

It's normal for some people to feel that way but u seem a little crazy about it.
Just make sure that if u ever have kids that u don't 'bore' your friends with details about your 'little brat/s'. And if u do have kids u will understand why us parents talk about ours

People like to brag and share stories about things they enjoy, I get that. But there is no sensible reason to share every single moment of pride that you yourself might have as a parent with every living being on this planet.

And yeah, its boring to hear these stories. It can get annoying too.

I'm sure nobody here would call their own children a brat in any way but lovingly that has replied to this however most parents and childless people are quick to call another couples' child(ren) brats, snobbish, stuck up or any combination of those because its most likely true.

Tbh, I feel like if you have kids they'd be some of the worst, most illiterate humans I'd ever come in contact with. Quite similar to yourself, actually.

Even the animals you visit at the zoo like kids. Are you the fuck out of your fuckin' mind?? if there's one in your head in the first place.
