Is it normal to hate it when people say "real music"?
Sometimes I see people say things like "That's crap, you need to listen to real rock" and it pisses me off. Everyone likes different styles of music so you can't really day what's "real" or not.

I get annoyed when people refer to your choices as softcore because naturally what they listen to is "hardcore" and somehow better, implying you are somehow a novice at understanding music. Half the time, they don't know a single thing about music apart from what sounds better on various drugs.
Judgemental idiots.
I hate it too. Why should it even matter to anyone what I listen to. As if they wanted to pigeonhole me based on my tastes. Music is overrated anyway. Just a sequence of notes.
I hate it when people say that some music "isn't real", or imply that it is somehow automatically worse than music they like, just because it comes under a certain genre. It gets me more annoyed than racism and all these other things, to me it is much more offensive than racism because it'd define myself by my music more than where I was born.
you obviously have juvenile shitty musical tastes deal with it (haha just kidding)
I hate that to. Or when I hear a song from a commericial that I like I'll search it on youtube and like it and people will comment and say "They ruined this when they used it for that commercial."
Yo yo yo son you gotta listen to Christian rock that were is at lol jk it sucks
I think it's silly for people to be so close minded to any music. It's all "real" music. Personally I listen to everything. Classic, folk, country, rock, metal and chart toppers. I like it all and i believe people go for a specific music type because of the image that's associated with it. Which is why they believe their type is the only real thing.
Most people are missing out because they do that.
... No. There's real music and 'new' music.
Garage punk, metal, soundtracks and pop are all new. Anything called Noun's Noun, or The Verb is just one more nail on the wall..
