sometimes i just want to KILL people who say that! its so offensive because not everyone celebrates christmas! i never want to hear the word christmas again its so insensitive to other culhures

When you live in a predominantly christian related society, created and run by christians, well They get to say what they want... and that is merry christmas. may be you are jealous that majority of people is enjoying gifts while you are being so bitter and close minded
You're the one being insensitive to other cultures. Just because you don't celebrate Christmas, doesn't mean everybody who does should keep their mouths shut. If they assume you do too, they are only wishing you a happy one. Just in case you're too blind to realise it, that's a nice thing.
If a Hindu said happy Diwali to me I wouldn't be offended. If a Muslim wished me a happy Eid-ul-Fitr I wouldn't be offended. If a Mexican said Happy Día de Muertos to me, I wouldn't be offended.
In conclusion, it's a sad thing that something so harmless offends you.
Think of it this way.do you think its insensitive to white people that theres a black history month?MLK day?that they force students in America to learn Spanish in school?what about all these people who still use this time a year and turn it into their own fantasy land?with all the stupid reindeer and snowmen and an excuse to be off of work and eat too much?why call it Christmas then?all religions are a fallacy anyway theres alot of other things out there that are made up crap too.like Mothers Day.great going Hallmark glad you found a way to sell all those stupid cards and flowers.does New Years Eve piss you off too?happy New Year!just another freaking day like all the rest.its all shit.
Get the fuck over it! It's always been Merry Christmas and always will be. Stop being so damn offensive and believe what you believe in and let others believe what they believe in :)
who cares i celbrate christmas and you are alive on that day so merry christmas. you could tell me happy hanukah or whatever holiday you celebrate. what irritates me are the conformists who choose to say happy holidays because its "politically correct".
I say Merry Christmas and I always will. Because that's what is said at this time of year. I'm not a practising Christian either but there's this thing, it's called being gracious, try it sometime.
While I personally say Happy Holidays to people out of respect for whatever they celebrate, I think you're taking it too far by getting furious with people who say Merry Christmas. To me, that's just another example of the "political correctness gone mad" issue that America (and possibly other Western countries) are facing. I find myself pleasantly surprised when people wish me a Merry Christmas, because it reminds me of the days before people became overly worried about being offensive.
you are way too sensitive. I am jewish and I kind of celebrate both.It is kind of fun eating potato pancakes while decorating the tree all in blue and white lights.
Well it's normal to feel a little bummed out during the holidays,we grew up Jehovah s witnesses, and what a full childhood that was, not celebrating anything, yes id feel out of place when everyone would have that xmas spirit...however that's a set tradition in society really

I understand that everybody has different beliefs and holidays but I think that it is very insensitive to be offended by someone saying Merry Christmas. We should all just say happy/merry whatever you personally celebrate. I live in a very multicultural city and here that's how we solved that problem. I think by saying happy/merry whatever you celebrate (even if the person you are saying it to doesn't celebrate it) is a nice gesture and shouldn't be offensive to anyone.
I don't like when someone says merry Christmas because then you are obligated to say it back and it sounds so fake, it makes me sick when I have to say it back to people it feels like trying to be nice and agree with someone you totally hate and just wanna get rid of so you act cooperative but really you wanna rip your skin off. Wow I didn't know i really felt that way until just now..

If you bump in a jewish family they will tell you happy januka. Everyone celebrates their own holidays their own way that does not mean you are gonna have to hate them all because you are envious and cannot fully take part in the celebrations.
