Is it normal to hate it when blacks call them selfs "n*gger"?

i mean the hate it when we do it. and if we do it we can go to jail. they can call us crackers. but the second that the word n*gger comes out of our mouths they are all over us. i have no problem with black ( dated a few ) people. but i hate the black that act like the sterotype of there race. (and if you are black and you are ofened "get over it" that means that you do it. so IIN?

I think that using this word makes black people look ignorant and because there is so much history behind it why would black people want to refer to each other this way. It is ghetto and ignorant. I cant really see president Obama sitting around calling his wife his niga. Classy people don't use this word.

    It cracks me up.
Heterosexuals can call everything and its brother a fag, or gay (hatefully), or even a cocksucker and no one does a damn thing about it.

Non-white people can say white trash, sorry redneck, cracker, white hillbilly, and other names that they aren't saying with nice intentions and nobody blinks an eye.

But God forbid anyone that isn't black or Mexican say anything that "may be offensive."

I don't use racial/sexual slurs and I don't think I ever will. I just think it's wrong how much of a double standard it is. I have seen where people have been murdered because of the use of the word n*gger and if it's that much of a controversial word, then it shouldn't be said by anyone.

Well, I'm black and brazilian and I wasn't offended by what you said. But black people don't say 'nigger', we say 'nigga'. I'm not the type that just throws it around either, and I don't like when I see people that do.

But there's a difference when blacks do it versus when whites do. Blacks that use it use it almost as an alternative to saying "that guy", so it isn't used in a necessarily hateful manner, everyone's a 'nigga' just because everyone's a person.
Whereas when whites do it, it may be playful, but the history behind the word has so much negativity it strikes a nerve.
Also, I'm sure some black people think like, "that's something they can't steal from us" so when they hear a white person using it, it's like "DAMN!!!! That too?!" (Being that it's easier to..find a job, own a house, etc when you're white).

A 'cracker' is also a food at best, but a 'nigga / nigger' just sounds harsh and hateful no matter how you try to soften it up and really only has a negative connotation attached to it.

Personally, I've never heard a white person or a person of any other race say it in my presence where I got angry or offended because we were friends and there wasn't hate or disgust behind it. Really, I felt more uncomfortable because of the word itself..but not angry that a 'non-black' person was saying it.

Wow... so let me get this straight, Blacks who despise the word "nigger" due to its negative connotation, needed an "alternative term" for the phrase "that guy" and the term they came up with was "Nigga"?? Really?

Black people do use the term nigger but they pronounce it nigga. Pretty much the same as when the same people say axe me a question or use the term popo.

I do not like the term Nigger and there is no variation of this word that should be acceptable in our society.

I wasn't there when it happened, I'm just speaking about what I've seen.

When black people say "nigga", it isn't hateful..that's my whole point.

I don't like the term either, but it's used quite frequently in my neighborhood..it won't be banished anytime soon.

I think everyone should be allowed to say it, it comes from the word black so it is not really a swear. Words like that shouldn't be powerful but I do think it's always going to be a low class way of referring to yourself or others. Like I'm white but if I start saying "white unite" or "white pride" I won't get in trouble but people would think of me as a lower class person. If black people call themselves nigger they will get the same reception.

I use all the racial slurs I can think of, and most of my humor is extremely racist. However, I do not discriminate. We're all equally annoying, regardless of our race and nationality.

Doesn't bother me unless the person saying it is acting stupid. Eh, I probably just don't like stupid people...

Like any word, it's the connotations attached to it, in this case they're negative.

I don't think it's offensive when black people call each other niggas because they are both black, so if it were used in a derogatory way, then it would insult the person saying it:L Which is pointless.

Whereas, it's different when a white person does it, because that rule doesn't apply to them.
