Is it normal to hate horror movie remakes?

I love horror movies expecally the old ones but everytime someone feels the need to remake a horror movie they somehow screw it up miserably. Low budget horror movies are the best but once you start remaking them and relying on CGI then it get's fucked up.
I have a nasty feeling that 20 years down the like they will remake the SAW movies, I secretly hope if they do I will be dead by then because they will totally suck ass like every other horror movie remake.

  • I'm the same, I love horror movies but because of all the remakes and reboots now I mostly watch 70s and 80s stuff. No shitty CGI there either.

I agree remakes suck. I will definitley not be watching that piece of shit 'Carrie' remake with a 15 year old in the lead. It will be dumbed down because you can't do a shower scene with someone of that age. It's lame.

I was OK with Rob Zombies remake of Halloween, but the second one was un-watchable. Still, nothing beats the original. No matter how cheesy the acting may have been.
