Is it normal to hate having to sleep?

I've gotten really annoyed with having to sleep. I'd rather be awake all day so I can do something productive instead of sleeping away about 1/4 of my life.

I dislike sleeping so much that every night I stay awake until I just pass out from exhaustion.

    I hate the thought of sleep because I know that I could be somewhere else doing something productive instead of lying in bed for hours. It also bothers me that when we go to sleep, people in all parts of the world are about to begin their day. It makes me feel like I'm missing out on something.

    I am usually up 2 about 12:00 am I wonder f that makes my lifespan shorter if it does I will surely go to sleep @ 9:00 on da dot ...

    I hate getting out of bed. I do of course, but I don't sleep well or long enough. I love beddy-by time I'd like a nap right now but I gots thangs to do. Right after I'm done wasting a few minutes on this site ta ta

    I can't say it's normal because irregular sleep feeds depression and depression leads to erratic sleep patterns, so they feed on each other. It really isn't good. Don't use me as an example, though. All I can do is to testify that it really isn't good. I'm trapped in the same cycle.

      I also believe that lack of sleep leads to depression. Gives me too much time to think. I also have a friend that has insomnia and he is constantly depressed.

    i think oversleeping in the morning is a waste of time, i feel much more refreshed if i get 7 hours then if i get 9 or 10 hours coz then i feel drowsy and lazy

    I totally agree with you. Sleep is such a waste of time! There's always so much to be done. But sleep is something we require, so we really can't avoid it :(

    Its normal to hate sleeping if your high all the time.you dread the enevitable come down and you probably fear you wont be able to feel good if you fall asleep.my advise is~Rest Your Neck!!your not going to missout on anything if you get some sleep.dreaming is important.its lifes practice field.your only shortening you life if your awake all the time . good night.

    sleeping is productive and necessary. though not everyone needs 8 hours.

    if you don't get enough sleep, watch out for stupid mistakes, exagerated emotions, bad decisions, etc.

    everything needs a break, even your brain. some people feel good with less sleep. it also depends on your age and development.

    Yeah, but if you stayed awake 24/7, you'd probably spend more time messing around, killing time, procrastinating etc, heh. What do you do all night?

    I understand where you're coming from though. It can be annoying that you have to sleep sometimes. But I also like sleep.

    And sleep IS productive. Your brain is working to consolidate and process memories and information.

    That could be a bad thing. If you keep a reguler sleep patern and just shave a couple minutes off graduly, you could probly get it down to 4-5 hours sleep. But dont think sleep a bad thing nor pointless. Without sleep you would die from brain exhaustion. Not to mention the lack of prepreation your brain would get from learning something new. No senarios meen you wouldnt understand or learn something aswell. You think sleep isnt productive?.... well maby it isnt, but you need it to have the ability to be productive. Perhaps you should look into sleep more. Search R.E.M. You'll find that sleep is more than just a good nights rest.
