Love me while im alive, dont mourn me when im dead.
"A funeral is a ceremony for celebrating, sanctifying, or remembering the life of a person who has died".
It's purpose is really for the living to grieve for the loss, and cope with the inevitability of our own death, and find strength to go on, all in a public forum.
The best we can do for ourselves and our loved ones is to honor and love them while they are alive.
I quite like a funeral, lovely time to say goodbye and remember that person
I stopped going to funerals.
Though I do pay respect in some form to the deceased person, I just cannot deal with going to a funeral. It makes me dizzy, hysterical and I have panic attacks.
Mind you, this was the last 3 funerals that I went to, and I plan to keep it at a lower number.
I agree with you on the last point.
I want my organs given away as donations and my body cremated and spread somewhere pretty when I die.
Personally I believe funerals should be smiled at since the deceased person in question is now free of any and all ailments.
