Is it normal to hate fellow women?

I usually cant stand fellow women. I know its painting with broad strokes saying a general statement like that, but for the most part i find them devious, conniving, fake, selfish, boring, lame, rude, totally self absorbed etc. Just the very
sound of their voice is like nails on a chalkboard and I feel thats weird since im a girl myself.

The exceptions would be the super sweethearts like grandmas or just very friendly, compassionate women.

Also, I should state I did not have these feelings before working in a call center.

Men just seem so much more level headed and calm and can take words at face value. With two or more women together, I feel its always a unecessary competiton of whose going to get their way.

  • Lots of women dislike other women, they intrude on their sense of being THE woman.

I'm a gay man who works around back stabbing, gossipy, two- faced, men-hating, women every day. They play favorites with some, then talk about the others. I make my (female) boss aware of this, but she just assumes it is the way some women are. I let her see that these women come up to me and gossip, and that I don't play. However, when I want information from one of them, I simply make it so they spill the beans because they are programmed to do so. The biggest gossip will always give you the scoop even though they first say they will not talk about this or that.

I can keep personal info to myself and do, they can't. My manager will not promote me or give me a raise. She will not let me modernize and streamline our procedures and data because she is old-school. Male bosses are usually open to try new things, women are not.

Our other half of the office is mostly men and yes they are very competitive, but respectful to each other. They don't make the time for non-sense. Unfortunately I do not get to work much with them.

I can relate. Last fall I had a big fallout with three awful women; terminally codependent and gossipy witches. In a lot of situations I tend to prefer the company of males. At first I was lonely and resentful of the experience but now I really enjoy the solitude and peace of mind I've gotten without those harpys in my life. I'm slowly starting to forge friendships with more appropriate females for me which tend to be tomboys despite the fact that I'm not that athletic.

Depends who it is. Most of the time I'd agree with you, definitely. But sometimes it's just hard not to admire someone, even someone of your own age or younger! And I'm not talking about sweet old grandma either

    It's quite alright.

I prefer men over women because of the same attributes you list. I have more enjoyable conversations with men than women.

I was interviewed for a call center position yesterday. I'm pretty sure I didn't get the position.

Well, I've heard this from so many women in the workplace I gave this a 'normal' call.
But I don't like to believe women are as you described. SO, I think I'll live in my male ignorance and think most women are great.
