Is it normal to hate feeling emotion?

I myself hate feeling emotion, and wish I could just be permanently depressed for the rest of my life so I could focus on important things like work, education etc... Instead of stupid, useless things like happiness and friendship. I only care about success in life, and feel as though if I was emotionless, I could be a better and more perfect person. Emotions bring nothing but distraction and annoyance to me. I really hate it.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Without emotion, I doubt you will truly achieve that success you crave. Without passion, actions are only half assed, so your achievements will be the same.

Exactly right. I wanna feel something. If you don't have emotion, you're numb and don't feel anything, which sucks. You can never be successful that way because you don't have the ability to care about anything.

Very true. Emotion is intrinsic to human beings. I control my emotions as a defensive mechanism. There are advantages and disadvantages inherent to the control of emotions, one should choose carefully when to abide by pragmatical reasoning and emotional one. To loose it, it's to abdicate from a big part of our humanity.

I sort of feel the same way right now. I don't want to feel anything. It's not really normal though.

Hate is an emotion, and a very pronounced one at that. Kind of an oxymoron. Lol
