Is it normal to hate everyone you work with?

I work as a manager in a small office with 25 employees- Mostly females. Most of the day they are complaining and whinging about really trival stuff. I cannot handle them or their attitudes towards each other. I avoid most of them and often eat lunch alone in my office. I never attend afterwork drinks, Christmas parties or social events as I really HATE them all so much! Is it normal to hate people you work closely with?

You can actually do something about it. Tell them that you'll write them up for bad attitude towards co workers. I wish I could have a manager that did something . I m stuck with a birch that makes me look bad all the time.

FUNNY YOU SHOULD WRITE THAT! A few of these women were on temp contracts which expire at the end of the year. I advertised their jobs for 2012 and have found a few new POSITIVE members to join my team. They did not get the jobs and there have been tears from them. These cranky women only have a few weeks left. So heres to a more positive and happy 2012!

Sir, I am a big fan of the hula hoop, but certainly not enough to want to work in a factory. I hope this offers the enlightenment you require.

Trust Me - I try daily to look for the positive in these people. This week alone Ive caught them back stabbing each other, complaining about wages (and we get paid really well!) complained about our duties and pretty much whined about everything. One group takes pride in causing infighting by twisting comments made and reporting it back to the person a comment was made about.

If you're a manager do something about it. Tell them their behavior isn’t appropriate for work. If you have a problem and you’re in the position that you can make changes it’s your fault you hate the people so much. Speak up or stop bitching about them. If you're too much of a pussy to do something about it other than complain on a website you sound just as whiny as they do.

  • Believe it or not you give me hope. Because I'm also anti-social and the fact that you're a manager means that social interactions aren't as necessary as I thought for the real world.
