Is it normal to hate ethnicities for this reason

I hate It when just a person follows the worst defining trait of their race such as white people being douchey (i am white) or when black and mexican people constantly talk about fighting and gangs (which is very true at my school). Tell me, is it alright to have a deepseated hatred of people who choose to belittle their community even further and strengthen the ethnic lines?

  • I know you're just being sincere, so this is my suggestion:

Instead of disliking a whole race of people based on your observations of those people in your community, try just disliking those traits in ANYBODY regardless of their race.

For example, you could say that you hate gang violence and violent people, instead of saying that you hate black and Mexican people who are into gang violence.

It's the behavior that you should find offensive, not the race of people.

Thats definitely a fair comment but i didnt say that i didnt dislike people of other ethnicities for these reasons, theres just the added disapointment and regret that leads me to dislike people for embodying their stereotype. If i were to be the stereotypical f*ck a goat to get into my fraternity kind of frat-boy then i would be ashamed.

  • Why is it so fucking hard to separate sin from sinner? Why not just hate the person instead of their race? I've been doing this for as long as I can remember with Bo problem. Why can't others? Why do I have to keep coming across ignorant ass posts on the Internet about racism?

I deeply agree with you one this one. I'm an african american who lives in a ghetto area and it saddens me a lot, i mean if I see some other race portraying a different stereotype doesnt make me as mad as seeing that race do it. Its just painful. It also makes people think of me as "not black enough" because I'm not as stereotypical and I feel like I dont fit in with any crowd because I'm not stereotypically gay, or african american...etc...I just do whatever I feel is right and whatever makes me feel comfortable. How am I supposed to feel about the movie Freaknik...I mean is this some kind of joke? thats usually my reaction...

  • You hate ethnicities for the racial stereotypes you seem to have bought into - isn't that racism?
