Is it normal to hate doing the food shopping - i need help?

I graduated from university a year ago and am now in my first job since then (At a theme park).

It's 2-2.5 hours travel each way for me and the hours can be kind of erratic. PLUS it's coming up to Fright Nights, which are REALLY REALLY REALLY busy. I could - for all I know, depending on who shows up or not - be doing up to 12 hours at work.

When at university, I could just roll out of bed/go to the local Lidl with my housemates and be set for ages.
Now, I do one of the following:

*Start on a meal plan but then can't finish it as it gets so overwhelming working out what to eat when and I'd never stick to the plan or the budget and
*Not plan, do food shopping, make a list and then get distracted by things not on the list
*Decide to cook something then not get round to it/not plan properly for whatever reason(s)
*Try and keep a mental budget for lunch in the canteen

I know what my weekly budget is for nowand I believe I know what my body is telling me to eat most of the time... but I have to think of the practical stuff too and I have to try and eat as healthily as I can.

There's a Lidl down the road from my current place as well and I can easily reach two other supermarkets... but it's so frustrating having to work out each and every little thing.

When at uni, I never had a strict budget for shopping, but I could plan what I wanted with relatively little fuss.

I still found it hard and disliked planning on some levels (Or I'd put off the shopping for ages then get round to it and massively splurge)... but I don't know what to do. Honestly.

Hey, there are shoppers out there who'll do your shopping and markets that deliver.
Why stress so. Of course, after paying someone else a lot of money to do a simple menial task, you probably could afford anything from the market anyway.

I feel like you're asking for people's advice. The only advice to give is to follow through on your 'plans'. It's just shopping for food, just buy something cheap that you like to eat. And something that you can cook and have left overs. I don't understand why you're making it sound like rocket science...

Buy stack of Steak that has a lot for a small price, a few cans of corn, mac and cheese, and few boxes of canned drinks. I don't know that is what I would buy.
