Is it normal to hate dancing?

I just really don't enjoy it. I don't get what people get out of it. It's not because I'm shy or embarrassed of making a fool of myself in front of people, I just genuinely don't get anything from it. I would never do it privately at home either (unlike say, singing.)

It's kinda annoying that I'm a student and it's expected of me to love dancing. It seems like the entire youth culture is geared up to cater for the world's love of something I don't enjoy. I love parties and socialising generally, just hate the random moving in time to music part of it.

P.S. I do have rhythm, and have been told I am a good dancer when I try, just don't enjoy it.

I'm not fond of dancing, but for me its a shyness thing. I'll only dance when I'm at home and a really good song is playing.
