I honestly can't stand anime. I hate everything about it: The stupid expressions on the character's faces, the annoying fans... and well, everything else.
I don't understand why people obsess over it and even have cos-play events.
like seriously?
I like spongebob, but i don't dress up as Mr. Krabs and go to conventions.
Am I the only one?
Normal. I hate everything that goes with it and the weaboo fans.
Only things that are enjoyable are movies created by studio gibbly. Even then, the fans annoy the fuck out of me.
Oky this may be long but im hitting alot of points here so plz be patient.
1st Im of 2 minds on the issue, i really hate the rapid amine fanboyness that has taken over. i grow up watching anime all my life (speed racer, ultraman, voltron and the like) but to me its just another form of entertainment.
I do feel u on the cliches in anime are very overdone and tiring, but these are a more recent addition to anime. Older anime (robotech, gundam) u dont see little bubbles and vein burst over ppl heads and sparkle eye. they are more mature.
But please dont write off anime as a whole because it covers so many diffrent genres and styles that there is literally an anime for everyone
It sounds like the main problem is the type u have been intoducted to are the immature kiinda that manytimes are embarssing to me.
Before u and anyone writes animes off for good plz consider whating the following:
Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa of the valley of the wind, & Any other Hayao Miyazaki directed movie.
This are the stories that are epic and fulfilling to watch. A good anime is one that makes u forget ur watchng one, because of the story. If u like fanasty, entertaining stories plz watch these movies. The likes of Uma thurman, Billy bob thorton,and even Patrick fukin Stewart did voice acting in the ones i mentioned above.
P.S. Death note is for scrubs itduz, so i guess it fits u
A lot of people don't like anime. But for me, I am a anime lover. A lot of people don't like anime because of the show and how people die-hard fans for every anime they see.
Cosplay isn't exclusive to anime. I mean I'm working on a Psylocke costume for my next con. (That's X-Men) Conventions are nerd prom, it includes all forms of geekdom.
Anime is eastern animation. ALL of eastern animation, so you can't sum it up so easily. Most importantly you need to understand that anime is normally a challenge. It's low budget, limited animation. They work with what they have, ease up.
If you were complaining about bad anime in the mainstream then I'd understand you. There's a lot of shit anime out there. But you're too general. You're basically insulting Tezuka and Miyazaki. ("I hate Twilight" vs "I hate modern books")
And "I don't understand why they obsess over it?" = "Man I hate geeks!"
Oh, because us geeks are so used to being loved? Dude, I'm a geek. I have my stack of comic books. I read comic books because I LOVE them. Am i pale and unhealthy? No. Anime fans watch anime because they LOVE them! And we geeks don't give up what we love to be cool. We don't do it so some no-name will hate us less.
But hey if it comforts you, you're not the only person in the world picking on geeks. So you're normal
Anime and cos-play are two separate things.
Go to any convention and you'll see people dressed up as ANYTHING... Characters from anime, characters from American cartoons, characters from TV and movies or books, and even their own invented characters.
A lot of anime is kind of boring... especially the nonsense ones that are, I guess, a "romantic comedy?" But some of them are actually good. I just watched one called Eden of the East, but I wouldn't recommend it. The ending is the worst.
Its normal, and I'm an anime fan.
I find it annoying that the majority of men fawn over sports statistics and take the games more seriously than their own lives sometimes. Any type of fanaticism or obsession is pretty annoying, most of the time.
The only one I like is Death note and thats mainly because it isnt childish.
I find it boring to. The idea seemed appealing when I heard about it but, now that I've looked into it, it's mostly boring.
Sometimes kids just can't cope with reality.
They'll get over it one day.
Something like Ichigo is just stupid but something like Inuyasha is as good as a real movie I nean if you're watching english dubs or something i might understand you but don't judge another culture like that
