Is it normal to hate a new square dance call name

Modern Square dancing is a hobby of mine. There are many levels of dancing. One call in the advanced program is "half-breed thru". A bunch of politically correct gay men have made a big stink in order to get the call renamed. In my opinion this is political correctness to the extreme and something I hate.

Am I wrong to like traditional terms even if they are all of a sudden "racist" and "hurtful". Is it normal to consider them brainwashed PC idiots? I'm quitting this hobby over this situation. It is dying out anyway, but I do enjoy it.

It's pretty normal if you don't join a club that wears those awful dresses, doll shoes and drive around in an RV that has a sticker of a couple dancing in silhouette.

I haven't seen square dancers under the age of 137, but I don't know that much about the topic.

It's Brace thru! Brace thru dammit! Jk

Yeah, sounds like they're becoming too politically correct, to me anyway. But don't quit if you enjoy it. It's not as if you quitting is going to change anything. Unless there was a unified refusal to participate if the name was changed or something I don't know about.

You're offended? We better round up a bunch of thin skinned whiny bitches and petition to change it before somebody's over sensitive feelings get hurt. I mean that's the thing to do now right?

Yeah, that picture was taken a while ago, when i was like 25. Ha

Exactly, after all if anyone thinks that someone somewhere might be offended, all rules must be changed for that non-identified, non-named, sensitive person.

Except if it is derogatory towards caucasion males, then it is ok to use, after all they deserve it.
