Is it normal to hate a friend with no apparent reason?

he was my first friend when i entered college, but he annoys me to death with comments that he finds funny but i don't. I avoid him now and feel uncomfortable when around him to the point that i think sometimes i hate him but the thing is that he doesn't give me a reason to hate him

Have you been friends for a long time? After awhile some people just drive you nuts, maybe you should take a break? I know when I'm annoyed at someone and we don't hangout for awhile, I can enjoy being around them kind of like the probs that existed before are gone and I can hangout with them again.

Have you tried takig a break from the friendship?

I don't see this person as a friend. A long time acquaintance, perhaps, but I don't think one could hate a real friend.

It's normal to grow apart sometimes, yes. I mean, college is a time in your life where you are doing a lot of growing up and experiencing a lot of change as a person. Sometimes you don't find yourself feeling as close to people that you were friends with when you were younger. I know I felt that way.
