Is it normal to grieve over your doctor when they quit their job?

A doctor at my local practice has left the team and I miss her already.

She's an amazing doctor, she's very kind, caring and sympathic. She never judged me for who or how I am and she is very helpful and understanding when I have an embarrassing problem.

Is it normal that I'm grieving over a fantastic, brilliant doctor who was great at her job or am I just being selfish?

Grief is an emotion commonly associated with loss. So it makes sense that you'd grieve the loss of the doctor-patient relationship you had with your doctor.

Yes. I was so sad when my first cardiologist (a beautiful and cool Redheaded man) had moved all the way to Arizona!!!! While not a doctor, the last time I went to see my paediatrician, before I became an adult, one the nurses, who worked with me when I was child, said that it was her last day. I BROKE DOWN IN THE ROOM. I CRIED SO HARD BUT, I PRETENDED THAT IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO GET VACCINATED. When we were alone, I said goodbye and hugged her. I had to fight so hard not to cry (again)!
