Is it normal to go to prom

I had no interest whatsoever to go to my prom. I partied elsewhere.

I didn't go to my school's prom, and I really do not regret not going. It's the sort of thing that's perfect for some people and probably is the best day of their lives so far; dressing up and going to a party. But in the end, dressing up and going to a party is all it really is and some people just don't like those things. I know mine was very expensive to get a ticket to, so I didn't bother.

EDIT: The real reason I didn't go was because I was going through a period of anxiety to strong for me to want to leave the house, let alone go to a party with all people I didn't like. But still, I would never have wanted to go at the best of times :)

Just do whatever you want.

I didn't go to my prom mainly because my senior class was full of bratty rich kids and self-absorbed hipsters. I'd practically have been alone in a room full of people that I didn't like.

I skipped both Proms and threw a REAL party.

I only went to my 11th grade prom. I didn't go to senior prom because I hated everyone I went to school with and I had better things to do. XD My parents also pushed me to go. I say you should do what you want, as long as you don't think you're going to regret it someday,.

Prom was one of the worst days of my life.

You can choose not to go, but you'll probably feel like you're missing out on something. At least check it out.

I suggest you go to prom, and if the party isn't fun, you go home or go party somewhere else.

I didn't go to prom because it's not really my kind of thing but i love looking at prom dress catalogs and sometimes wished i would have gone just to look that good and show off to everyone lol...

Well, when I was 10 years old, all I could dream about was prom. Of course, hormones and teenage life would change my feeling about that later on, and by the time I was a senior in high school I didn't really care for prom. However, I went anyway because I knew how much it meant to me as a kid. I guess you can say I did it for my younger self. It was alright. I personally favor my first dance, in 7th grade over it and any other dance I went to for that matter, but prom was alright. It wasn't the funnest thing. I mean, I had a little bit of fun, but it definatly wasn't something I hated. High school for me, wasn't one of those things that I would cherish so it may not have been the same thing for me as for other kids, but a part of me is happy that I went and simply for the fact that I can say, "I went."

If you don't want to go. That's cool. It probably won't scar you, and like I said, prom doesn't mean something to everyone. I would say it depends on what high school means to you, and judging on the fact that you don't really want to go, I'm going to assume it doesn't mean that much to you which is cool because I was the same way. But it's your decision.

Any kind of PROM is all old,outdated SHIT.Not worth the time,money,or effort.Unless you think like a 13-yr.old GIRL.

I'd vote, but my opinion isn't really on there, so either way. I didn't go to my school's proms, junior because I was sick and senior because I preferred not to go out that night. It's not really something you HAVE to do, but if you want to there's no real reason not to. I mean the only reason I can see is people might make fun of you, but really, that's not going to matter after like, a week has passed
