Is it normal to go temporarily blind when getting up?

So sometimes after sitting down or laying down for even short periods of time, when I get up to a standing position I lose all eyesight and my head begins to feel funny. After about 5~10 seconds, I return to normal. Is this normal?

P.S. I'm 16 and I hear that adolesence is a major part in heaps of health issues that fix themselves after puberty.

Happens to me all the time. Usually they're short 3 seconds or so. But sometimes they're up to 7 or 8 seconds. Im 16 too but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

They're called headrushes, nothing to do with puberty I don't think. I get them when I've been sitting in the sun too long and I move into the shade.

This happened to me daily in high school. I would even black out and fall down from it sometimes. I'm 21 now & it only happens maybe once a month, so I think your adolescence theory is right. Also, being underweight & anemic can contribute.

Sign of low blood pressure. I have it too. Drink more, it helps.

I get this all the time especially when getting up and going in a lighted area from a dark one and have to grab the wall and sit there for a few seconds

yeah i get it all the time, headrush. but it can be a sign of low blood pressure if it lasts more than a few seconds or starts happening more often.
