Is it normal to go on wikipedia adventures?

I go on Wikipedia adventures. What is a Wikipedia adventure?

It's what happens when I look up a subject that I am interested in on Wikipedia. From that subject, I will find an interesting link to a related subject page, and from that subject page, I will find more interesting links embedded within the page (often times they are links referencing subjects I don't know about but should know about to better understand the article) and from there, more links and so on and so forth...

Right now, I am on an Astronomical Wikipedia adventure. My curiosity started with a Professor mentioning retrograde orbit (not an Astronomy professor) and curious, I went to look up "Retrograde motion" on Wikipedia. I am now reading about "Hot Jupiters" (super-heated, Jupiter-like planets) and doubtful my adventure will end here.

Does anyone else go on Wikipedia or similar adventures on the internet?

I do, but I've seen plenty of things on Wikipedia that are 100% wrong, so I never trust anything I read there. It can be useful as a starting point, although - in general - I really wish the site didn't exist.

Why do you wish the site didn't exist?

    Hahahaha, I call this ''Clickipedia.''

The endless clicking of links. But what I like to do is click on that ''random article'' link at the top left and you'll get the most bizarre pages such as: 'Phenylpropiolic acid' (just clicked), 'Pterophorus aliubasignum' (just clicked) and of course 'The Power & The Passion' (just clicked).

I play the three link game. Keep clicking on the third link till i see a page twice.

Goodness, yes. I'll go on there for one thing and an hour later I'm on something else. A good example is looking up BDSM and then finding myself in Philosophy.

Oh yeah, I LOVE Wikipedia.. I also go on 360cities.net to do what I like to refer to as Internet traveling.

Yeah, but I do it on YouTube.

Google is very good at predicting what I like in that column on the right-hand side.

I learned about various large mammals of the Pleistocene era (which I always internally pronounce as "plasticine era)" last night that way :D Did you know the was once a type of polar bear that probably weighed twice the amount of a modern polar bear? Now you do :D
