Is it normal to go naked to a shop?

A few years back we four friends were living in an apartment. One evening making fun of each other, an adventure was suggested that who would go naked to shop across the road and buy tea bags. The area was almost deserted. On friend got ready. We couldn't believe when he took off his clothes and rushed outside. After a couple of minutes he came back with tea bags. Later the shopkeeper and another neighbor came complaining it. The issue was settled soon. Is it normal?
