Is it normal to go months without sleeping with your partner?

We've been dating a year and a half.
The first time we ever had sex was about six months in. After that we went eight months before doing it again. It's not me who's not up for it, I personally have a very high sex drive and would love to do it multiple times a day, if that option were available.
The reason I think this is like this is because of her. She's transitioning right now and hard for her. And I love her but I'm also torn at the same time to break it off so I can get the attention I need.
