Is it normal to give up saying hi to anyone

i tend to be a people pleaser and most of the time, i am the one to initiate conversation, say hi, be the friendly one and the majority of "friends" that i have, never engage. they never say hi, they never show they are interested in me, they make me feel as if i am nothing. So i am going to never say hi again and see what happens. Is this normal? i am going to go from being a super social butterfly to someone who is practically mute. Will they even notice?

    Hi there too :p
I agree, whenever I see that i'm the one always starting the conversations I get this feeling .. that they don't really want to talk to me. So I try to stop myself from saying hi and see if they talk. If not, i guess we were never real friends.... (and although some people are very forgetful and do wanna speak to you but they're always busy, i always think that if you really want to speak to a person, you find a way.)

    Hello there! ;-)
I really feel you on this one!
Do you want to talk to me instead?

Probably not. Obviously your friends don't give two shits about you so it's good you've finally got the hint. Way to pick your friends.

    Hi there :-)
Personally, I think greeting each other every day is a very useless tradition, but you seem to have a whole other problem with it, so I'm gonna shut up now.
