I'm a girl, and when a watch a movie or read a book that has a rape scene, i get turned on. Its not because I like violence or that I would want to raped or anything sick like that. Idk, maybe I want a dominate partner?

Alot of films portry rape in quite an erotic way. If you get turned on by a film like "Irreversible" for example which is more realistic then i might be worried.
Also keep in mind that rape is a common female fantasy. Its o.k to have your fantasies.

For those people who criticize this - it's not sick or abnormal as you don't actually want to be raped - it's a very different thing. It's wanting to be submissive and dominated by your man, which is very normal from an evolutionary perspective. It also doesn't mean you want to be dominated ourtside of the bedroom, either.
It is probably because you want a guy that is dominating. Also rape fantasy is common. That is because it is something that is taboo and also in a sense a lot of people see it as a way to make their idea of sex more of a turn on. (Excuse the poorly worded sentence, I can't think of a better way to word it right now.) But, it is only a turn on in the fantasy for both, and real life its just....it takes an awful person to do that to somebody.
it is just the sex you like, not the rape. if you watched a real video of some being raped, in harsh lighting without makeup and hollywood, you wouldn't like it. don't worry about this one at all.

I have the same turn on! :) but my boyfriend gets a little edgy with the term rape fantasy. So I think of I as more as a domination fantasy. You don't want the harsh behavior and actually painful force. Just kinda your boyfriends the boss and he's in charge feeling. So many girls have this fantasy, it's like the top 3 :) so no worries it's normal!

From the research and information I have read, it is very common for women to feel this way. However, I think that there is a lot of shame involved for women who get turned on by "fictional" rape situations or who have rape fantasies. I haven't told anybody I know about my inclination towards this type of fantasy (friends, boyfriend, etc.) for fear of their reactions.

I am disturbed how people find this normal. It is one of the most traumatizing things that can happen to someone.
I don't really consider it a healthy thing. Everyone keeps using the word 'normal' as that is the point of the site. But for me, the real question is whether it is healthy or not. I think the problem that it causes is the conditioning and reprogramming of our bodies toward these fantasies. It has to do with the chemicals in our brains that get released during sex. If we are conditioned to respond only to these kinds of fantasies, are we setting ourselves up for relational / sexual dysfunction with our future spouses? I believe this answer to definitely be YES. I have this problem due to many years of violent sex/ forced sex / abuse from my ex. I hated it and myself during. However, now - I am heavily turned on by it because of the reprogramming it did to my body. I'm trying to figure out how to retrain myself to a healthy view of sex instead of what I currently crave, which is extreme force, degrading, violent torture and even death fantasies all while being raped. Not what I consider 'normal'.

May be common, but it's not normal. Rape is in my opinion the most awful of crimes, and if you enjoy seeing it, be it in fiction or not, you are perverted. Even if it's just a subconscious thing, you should feel compassion for the girl or hatred for the guy or something similar, because that's what you know is right (unless you're in favor of rape in real life). If you get aroused, you're letting your primitive instincts take over your thinking. I also don't think it's normal to want to sexually dominate or be dominated, because that means you're selfish and downright evil or that you have self-esteem issues.
