Is it normal to get the urge to smash things when i'm on my period.

My period is most of the time very painful to me. I get heavy cramps in my belly and stuff. The first day is always the worst. I get aggressive thoughts and I want to smash everything in my sight. I can control it but I was wondering if this is normal.

I cry all the time on my period and my boyfriend called me Niagara. I just get too emotional.

Yes, it's totally normal. I've dealt with about 31 years of "HULK SMASH!" behavior one week out of the month.

A very, very small percentage of people have such severe hormonal fluctuations that they deal with menstrual psychosis, not just manageable aggression. Unless you go catatonic or begin to hallucinate, though, you're probably just like a lot of us.

Yep periods cause an increase in testosterone which causes people to be angry, have mood swings, and want to smash things. hope this helps :D
