Is it normal to get muscle spasms in your upper back/shoulder blade?

Okay for the past two days Ive been having this really weird feeling in my upper back/shoulder area. It feels like the muscles are rolling, or moving to different spots by themselves. I asked my friend, and she said its called a muscle spasm. But she didn't know if people got them in their backs and if it was normal to get it as a teen.
The only sort of real injury Ive had recently was falling off a horse. This was a few weeks ago and the pain left after a few days, could it have caused this ( a delayed reaction to it?)? Other then that, I exercise daily (nothing too strenuous) and eat fairly healthy.
But back to the main question, is it normal to have this happen?

If you have any tips to get it to stop happening or to get rid of the pain it would be appreciated.

Sound like whiplash from the horse. Get to a reputable osteopath, within 6 months of the injury, and it should never happen again.

Don't leave it too long or you will be plaqued by this pain for many years to come.

Silly, why would an australopithecus be of any help? Don't mind joybird, she has delusions of being an old Irish woman. See a doctor.
