Is it normal to get lots of energy when trying to sleep

is it normal that i get great amounts of energy when i try to sleep?
i feel sleepy but once i lay down my mind takes off like i drank 2 coffees a monster and 23 red bulls. my mind jumps around like a turbo charged 2 stroke rubber ball between regrets, future plans, memories, and funny things/ jokes ive heard. it also involves extreme mood swings. i have to get up or i feel im going to explode and go clean the garage or build something untill i fall asleep on the floor in the middle of whatever im doing. ANYWAY is that normal?

ps. hello

  • That's typically how my house gets cleaned. When I can't sleep, it's because I'm anxious about something, negative or positive. The stress causes the adrenal glands to produce adrenaline, which gets me ready for action even when all I want to do is rest. Once I do manage to fall asleep, it's almost like going into a coma and I could sleep for at least 12 hours.

Having the problem as I write this. And I know what you mean about mood swings, I always get annoyed after hours of trying to sleep, insomnia can be cause by a huge amount if things but your case sounds very similar to mine which is in part because of my A.D.D, people always recommend visiting a gp for persistent insomnia incase it's linked with a condition, which I'm sure it's not :)
