Is it normal to get like this late at night?

I have severe insomnia, so i am always up all night for nights at a time. At about 4am everynight (im usually crying cuz im just one of those helpless emo bitches.) I start freaking out, like Im suddenly scared out of my mind, sweating, and shaking very badly.. I get a horrible headache and I usually end up talking to myself talking me down from that point because I become very suicidal/ homicidal at times (I would never act on the feelings . It's a long story but dont worry about it) and I have to convince myself there's no one else in the room and it's just me. Usually the only way to get myself to calm down completely is to get a glass of water, and blast my music and just focus on the lyrics. This usually lasts anywhere from 5 minutes to one time about 2 hours, but usually about 30 minutes. I'm pretty sure it's not "normal" but does anyone else do this? Or no what this is..??? Please help me.. Thanks(:

    Bag O' Dimes is an idiot...you don't have Schizophrenia, you suffer from panic attacks.

    It's not that uncommon, seek out a psychiatrist, they can likely prescribe some medication that might help, or even pursue therapy that gets to the root of the problem.

    go and see a doctor or a phsciatrist. how long has it been going on for? cos it sounds like your suffering from deppression or some mental illness but you can try and get some help. i hope you situation improves. and like the oerson above said, dont smoke weed, it can make mental ilnesses, panic attacks, paranoia ect worse.

    I used to get scared in the night, and my heartbeat increased and I stared to sweat... It was horrible, and I couldn't sleep. But I talk to my friends and we end up finding the reason of my fear and now I'm not scared anymore.

    I've had problems sleeping, and I have gone into panic mode over it, but I think you're driving yourself sick over it. You're probably not falling asleep at night because you're subconsciously thinking about it. You're worried you won't fall asleep, so you end up just tossing and turning the whole night.

    I think you should talk with your parents or whoever your guardian is. Do they already know? Maybe you should speak with a doctor.

    If you don't wanna see a doctor, try drinking warm milk before you go to bed, take a bath, massage you face a little bit, or get someone else to do it. It might sound weird, but I went through this strange phase when I was like 16, and just like you, sleepless nights everynight! But I always felt like having someone massage my face, neck, or my shoulders and back made me very sleepy. You could also try listening to your music, but keeping it at a low volume. Try listening to something that is soothing, not rap, heavy metal, rock, etc, thats car music. Listen to something deep, and actually meaningful... maybe classical music or something more along those lines. You could also keep your tv down low, maybe a news channel where theirs mainly talking.

    And I'm sure by now you're already overtired, so get into your bed early, especially earlier then when you went in the night before. Relax, and don't think so much about whether you'll fall asleep or not. I know its hard, but think about something other then that.

    It sounds to me like you are suffering panic attacks. Do a bit of reading around the subject and see if it matches your symptoms. Maybe approach a doctor as well and just talk it through.

    I'm not a professional but I'd say you're suffering from a mild case of schizopherenia. Not to the point where youre actually seeing things that are bot there but you experience the feeling that some is there when there is not. My guess would that you see Psychiatrist of maybe a neurologist. Also you get yourself checked for any depression problems since you feel a bit sui/homicidal and start to cry for no real apparent reason. Hope all goes better!
