Is it normal to get jealous of other pretty girls?

So I'm a 17 year old girl (just turned). Almost everyone thinks I'm pretty/cute, I do too sometimes but it's when I wear my hair down or wear makeup. Lately I haven't got an urge to wear makeup because it feels like I'm rubbing dirt all over my face. Anyway, I'm told im beautiful but yet I get jealous of "prettier" girls. I see very gorgeous girls/ women at the mall, at my school ECt and I wish I looked like them. I envy girls like Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Megan Fox, and this singer named Rebecca Black! They all are soooo beautiful and get lots of comments on Instagram and stuff. Also when my crush adds loads of girls on facebook I cry! It makes me feel like I'm not pretty enough! Is this normal?

    I bet you're prettier than most of the celebrities you named off. Seriously, the majority of them don't look beautiful. Also, if you're receiving compliments then that says something.

    Even though I'm a guy, I can still relate. What sets me apart from most guys is that I'm thin and I feel confident about myself. Appearance-wise, some women won't find me appealing, but others will. That's how the opposite gender works.

    Im insecure too, infact people on this site are sick of me haha. But I get what you mean, comparing yourself to other women isn't good though, flaunt what you have been given, people compliment you so have confidence.

    Yeah, completely normal. Guys do it to from time to time as well. But what more can you do but try and be comfortable in your skin and better yourself for you and you only.

    I hear you, being a jealous person sucks. Anyone with a pretty face makes me jealous and I have to keep it in check or else I become a bitch. I hate being so jealous so I try to focus on furthering my own unique look and personality so I won't be so insecure and jealous
