Is it normal to get hurt in your sleep?

Sometimes when I wake up from a long nights sleep, I'll have scratches or bruises on my body. And many of the times, the scratches are on my back where I cannot really reach. I'm not sure if this is self inflicted during my sleep or something else, but I know I do sleep with my door locked.

That's the thing, I don't have any tags on my sheets or pillow, I've cut them all out, but I still get these scratche and bruises.

You probably just toss and turn in your sleep. Scratches are easy to get. You might have been moving a lot in your sleep, and went over a paper tag that was sticking out of your sheets or pillow. It could also be the material of your sheets.

Happens to me all the time. I've currently got ligament damage in my left heel from something that happened while I was asleep.
