Is it normal to get hungry a couple of hours after eating?

It seems that I always get hungry within two and a half hours after eating, even if I am initially full right after finishing a meal. I have been trying to just drink water whenever this happens, which helps, but doesn't completely take away the hunger. What could be causing this? Is there anything else I can do to stop it? I am trying to lose weight and this is really hindering my weight loss efforts.

It's normal, but don't succumb to the urge to eat. The reason you are still hungry is because you are trying to lose weight and your body is still used to that diet. Once your body becomes used to the new diet, your stomach capacity will shrink and you won't get as hungry anymore!

    Depends on what you're eating.

Fiber and protein keep you fuller longer.

Carbohydrates take less time to digest and therefore they make you hungrier.

+1! Also complex carbs are really good, like whole grains, veggies and fruits.

Oh yeah... even less then 2 hours, man I raid the fridge so hard the only thing you might find there is a lost arc, certainly no traces of food.

But it's my own fault, I'm trying to massively gain weight for bodybuilding and boosted my metabolism sky high.

if you're losing weight, shitty deal.. you just have to ignore it and hang on there! Do a lot of cardio too, helps burning fats and if you do enough you feel like vomiting afterwards -will keep you away from food for a while.

Are you eating less than you used to? You already mentioned you want to lose weight, so if you're in a new diet at the moment or changed your eating habits that might be the reason.
