I have ADD and started to take Ritalin late in life. So far it's doing wonders for my work but it makes me horny ALL the time.

I used to eat ginseng in a drink and I would often get very aroused... It is normal as se things can have an aphrodisiac effect.
Ritalin didn't do much for me, pleasure-wise, but holy CRAP did Vyvanse give me the longest, most mind-blowing orgasms. They would last forever, I would ejaculate, and then I would actually have the rest of the orgasm. It lasted twenty to thirty seconds. I was almost late for work once.
I still managed to not like being on it, somehow. I guess I really am that boring!
I have no idea how your sexual orientation has any relevant to this. I am not sure about this but Ritalin is basically speed under another label.
Umm, you also said it "did wonders" for your work... Ritalin might boost your labido, but so does kicking ass at your job. All the parts of our life are connected - hard for there to be betterment in one area without it affecting other areas also.

Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a dopamine re-uptake inhibitor, which basically means it increases the amount of dopamine in the synaptic cleft between neurons. Dopamine (and serotonin to some extent) is a neurotransmitter that's responsible for feelings of pleasure and satisfaction.
So yes, in a lot of individuals this drug does increase your libido, on the other hand it also constricts blood vessels making it harder to achieve and sustain an erection for some people. Horny and impotent = bad combo.
i dont see what your sexuality has to do with your sex drive. as for the ritalin, i suppose its possiable, but unlikely. can ask how old you are? because if you aged between 14-30 a high sex drive is normal ;)
Yes it is normal. Ritalin is an amphetamine as is adderall. Although they do well treating adhd, one side-effect is making you horney--especially if you are sitting in front of the computer and looking at porn right when you take the meds and they first kick in.
20 year old here, btw ima guy. i've got ADHD, been had it since i was 4, and for most of my life i was on Adderall, but just recentally I was put on Focalin, which is like, purified ritalin... i probably couldn't tell you if it's normal or not to be horny when you are on said meds, since i am a chronic masturbator, and still haven't had sex yet. ^^;;;;;
