Is it normal to get hiccups whenever i eat hot/spicy food?

Whenever I eat hot and spicy food (I mean food that makes your mouth burn regardless of its temperature, chilies for example), I get hiccups. It also happens to my identical twin brother and my grandma. IIN?

Try olives instead. Maybe a garlic olive.

I think this has to do with the chemicals that are in the peppers. It's a reaction, if I am remembering correctly. Tmi, perhaps, but the reaction I most commonly have to spicy peppers is diarrhoea or if not diarrhoea, my bowel movements are extremely soft, but not runny, and still come out with great urgency. I don't recall the spiciness being intact during the passing of my colonic waste. The only time my waste has ever been spicy was when as a child, I constantly seemed to be tearing my ass asunder from constipation or from the rare excursions of explosive diarrhoea.

Apparently so. Why don't you Google it?
